Service was already on when the woman finally arrived. Happiness filled my heart as I found myself smiling.
The woman had not even settled down before I went to meet her to give me two chinchins.
I handed one to Lekan as I also started munching on my own.
The pastor on the alter suddenly said "praised the lord".
I stood up alongside other members to scream "hallelujah" as I was munching on the chinchin inside my mouth , but I didn't know how my head tilted backward and there she was, my mummy sitted directly behind me looking at me like an angel of death. The woman of steel herself, the lion, the non preacher of love woman.
The chinchin in my mouth started tasting like an abomination at once.
I fell down to my seat as everything started blurring in my eye.
" Pelumi, this chinchin is very sweet oo, maybe you should tell your mom to increase your offering money so that we can be buying plenty " Lekan said as he munched on the chinchin happily.
I looked at him and I felt like strangling him to death. Tho he didn't say it loud but to my ear, it felt like he used a microphone.
" or maybe my eye is deceiving me " I said to myself as I tilted my head backward to confirm if it was really my mom.
" ahh " I muttered as she was really the one. She smiled at me and I felt my heart stopped beating and also felt like vomiting the chinchin inside my stomach .
Lekan noticed my expression and checked what could caused it.
" ahh " he muttered as he also saw my mom.
That was how Lekan stood up from his chair and started dancing without song.
Lekan danced outside of the church and that was the last time I saw him. Lekan betrayed my heart and soul and left me to my doom alone after I've been feeding him with chinchin for many sundays.
Even as everywhere was filled with fan, I started sweating profusely.
I was na hearing death from everything everyone was saying .
